planning a visit to canakkale in Turkey and looking for accommodation. Do have a look at this Çanakkale province based hotel which offers accommodation for 20 guests and is the most authentic hotel in the canakkale region. Many people book a hotel room in Çanakkale (city) and only realise afterwards that their accommodation is miles away from the "Çanakkale" battlefields (as the Turks call them). If your hotel is in Çanakkale you'll have to take a ferry every day and the same has to be repeated to reach your accommodation in the evening.

The Gallipoli houses opened its doors in May 2007 and is therefore the newest addition to the list of hotels,
accommodation available in the Çanakkale region.
This small authentic hotel, offering comfortable accommodation in the heart of the Gallipoli National Park is owned and run by Özlem Gündüz and Eric Goossens. The hotel is tucked away in Kocadere, a tiny village located half-way between
Eceabat and Kabatepe. (10 minutes to Eceabat and 45 minutes to Çanakkale).
The Anzac sector is only a stones throw away whereas the Helles and Suvla sectors are respectively a pleasant 30 and 20 minutes drive from the hotel. This priviliged location makes the Gallipoli Houses
an ideal base to explore the Gallipoli battlefields.

Many people are convinced that
getting to and touring the Gallipoli
Peninsula is a major
adventure and requires preparation simular to a Mt Everest Expedition. ...
Nothing is less true and the Peninsula can be
reached in a comfortable
and safe way by individual travellers.

Dear Eric and Özlem,
... my break in Gallipoli was really three dimensional,
first of course was the absolutely superb accommodation, secondly your
hospitality and care could not be bettered anywhere, and thirdly the food
was really out of this world and was a joy to experience, both its quality,
presentation, and not least of all it quantity was absolutely first class.
Although I embarked on my sole journey filled with a certain level of
trepidation, my arrival at the Gallipoli Houses and your welcome caused any
worries I may have had to dissolve completely, I felt totally at ease in the
company of everyone, and felt I was less of a visitor more of a friend, your
extremely helpful advice as I set out each day on my adventures was really
appreciated and gave me every confidence in the task I had set myself during
my visit.
