Flight Officer
Ali Riza and his observer Lt Orhan engaged in
a dogfight with a French Farman plane during their reconnaissance and
patrolling mission with their Albatros AK1 over Kabatepe on November 30,
1915. The French plane fell in flames between Intepe and Helles as a result
of a bullet that hit the fuel tank. This was the first air victory of the
Turkish Pilots.
