Mustafa Kemal, commander of the Anafarta Group, gave his order to the 7th
Division to attack towards the Damakçilik Slope on the of 9th August 1915 and
so prevented the collaboration of the Anzac Corps with the British 9th Army
Corps thus preventing any possible threat to Kocaçimen Tepe (Hill 971)
