Grave of an unknown artillery Captain

... there is no information provided about the dead officer.  This site is named Değirmenburnu (Mill Point) and during the Gallipoli Campaign an army corps field hospital and hospital for the seriously wounded were located here.  All those who couldn’t be treated in the hospitals closer to the front and those critically wounded were transferred to this hospital.  Hundreds of Turkish soldiers lie buried on the slopes just above this memorial and the surrounding area. The presence of numerous headstones from the time support this.
