the first "hotel de charme" on the Gallipoli peninsula
In 1915, Soğanlıdere was used as the main logistics centre for the Turkish forces in the southern sector as it was shelthered from the fire of the Allied fleet. At the same time the divisional field hospitals were established around this area. The seriously wounded and those
suffering from disease were transferred to these facilities from front line
field ambulances.
